When I moved to New Zealand from Detroit eight years ago, I was incredibly homesick.
The smells, the seasons — everything felt different.
One day, I decided to make my own candle to recreate the scents I missed most. My first one was Pumpkin Chai one autumn evening. I lit one in every room, and for the first time, felt at home.

As I learned more about candle-making, I was surprised to find that most store-bought candles use paraffin and synthetic fragrances — things I did NOT want in my home (or my air).

So I set out to make candles differently:
- 100% pure soy wax (no paraffin, ever)
- Phthalate-free fragrance oils
- Recyclable glass jars and packaging
- A refill program for reusing vessels you love

What started as one candle on my kitchen stovetop has grown into a small but mighty community. Through our Candle Club (now nearly 100 members strong) and in-person workshops, we celebrate the seasons together.

And now, Little Batch has its very own home too — our physical space at 152A Manukau Rd, Pukekohe. Here, you’ll find candles, cozy corners, workshops, business meetups and more - a soft landing for our community of candle lovers.

When I’m not pouring wax, you’ll probably find me chasing my boys Noah and Carter, hiking, reading or reheating my coffee for the third time.

Thank you for being here.
